With over 50 years of combined fishing experience, we have turned our lifelong passion into a formidable competitive team. I, Scott, with 30 years of crappie fishing experience, and Derrick, with over 20 years, decided to join forces two years ago and dive into the world of competitive fishing. Our partnership quickly proved to be a winning combination, blending my deep knowledge and strategic approach with Derrick’s sharp instincts and technical skills. In 2024, The Choctaw Slab Hunters Team achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Angler Team of the Year award for the amateur division on the Alabama Crappie Trail. This accolade is a testament to our dedication, teamwork, and the refined techniques we employ to outfish our competition. Our success on the Alabama Crappie Trail has solidified our reputation as top-tier anglers. Currently, The Choctaw Slab Hunters Team competes in both the Alabama Crappie Trail and the Delta Crappie Trail in South Alabama. Our consistent performance and competitive spirit make us a respected and admired team among fellow anglers and fans alike. Our journey is characterized by our relentless pursuit of excellence and our passion for the sport. We continually refine our strategies, stay Up-to-date with the latest fishing technologies, and adapt to the ever-changing conditions of the waterways we fish. Outside of competitions, The Choctaw Slab Hunters are dedicated to sharing our knowledge and inspiring the next generation of anglers.
